BEER BATTERED CHEESE CURDS

Paperboard box packaging design to be created for Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery's frozen Beer Battered Cheddar Cheese Curds. The client has been producing this product for food service customers with generic packaging being very basic and not intended to be seen by the average consumer. With the growing popularity of their cheese curds, the client wanted to develop packaging appealing to the general consumer and expand sales into the grocery store freezer section. The client supplied an assortment of product photos to work with and emphasized that they wanted some kind of reference to being a “State Fair Style” cheese curd.

SOLUTIONS:
The development of this packaging centered around the “real world” photography displayed on the primary display panel. It was important to show the consumer exactly what was in the box within a setting familiar to many beer battered cheese curd connoisseurs. A classic country appearance was chosen to appeal to an adult demographic utilizing a rich burgundy color palette with linen textured overlay and classic serif font styles throughout. A blue ribbon illustration bug was created referencing the “State Fair Style” call out requested by the client.
